Every year, many wonderful support Groups walking in our Parade, help survivors of Domestic Violence to set-up new lives in new homes.
Often, these people flee with barely the clothes on their backs and often with children.
Helping them to resettle into new, safe accommodation to reclaim their lives is an important next step to healing and independence.
To help, our partners often bring together 'starter packs' such as a Kitchen pack, Bathroom, Laundry, Bedroom packs etc with genera items we take for granted in our own homes.
For example, a Laundry Pack might include a Washing basket; Pegs; Washing powder; Clothes airer; Iron; Ironing Board etc.
This year in our Walk for Respect, we ask you to come along with added purpose. Bring with you an item (or more) to add to our Drop Off Point collection in Victoria Square - open from 9am, before the walk commences.
Products collected will be distributed to our partners working directly with survivors, to help them make transitions to new lives easier.
